2019 Shanti Peace Lecture

The Monmouth Center for World Religions and Ethical Thought (MCWRET) and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County are sponsoring its 20th annual Shanti Peace Lecture on Sunday, October 6 from 3:00-5:00PM at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft. This year's theme is "We Are Not Enemies; America's Promise in an Age of Polarization". Presenting will be David Blankenhorn, president and co-founder of Better Angels, a citizen organization working to depolarize America. The mission of Better Angels is to engage with, seek common ground and work with those whose opinions differ from our own. Mr. Blankhorn is also president of the Institute for American Values. Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Mr. Blankhorn has degrees from Harvard University and the University of Warwick in England. He currently resides in NYC. The public is welcome to attend. Admission is free; a basket will be available for donations. After the lecture and dialogue, all are invited to a reception with light refreshments.
