Come enjoy a delicious meal and celebrate Octoberfest on Thursday, October 17 to help support Special People United to Ride's (SPUR's) therapeutic horsemanship program. The event will be hosted from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. at Woody's Restaurant located at 1202 Sycamore Avenue, Tinton Falls, NJ 07724. A percentage of your meal charges will be donated to SPUR's annual scholarship program by Woody's. Free drink refills of select beer and wine will also be available with the purchase of a souvenir cup for $20.00. There will be baskets raffles and a 50/50 drawing during the evening as well. SPUR is a 501(c) (3) organization that works in conjunction with the Monmouth County Park System and Sunnyside Equestrian Center to bring the proven benefits of therapeutic horsemanship to our community. SPUR programs include Therapeutic Horsemanship (children and adults), Horses for Heroes (veterans and active duty military), Equine Environment Learning (school groups) and Stable Beginning (fifth to eight grader). The mission of the SPUR Board of Directors is to ensure that no student is turned away due to financial need and to support the program in many other ways including horse purchase and retirement, instructor education, and provision of special equipment.
