Members of the community are invited to attend the Northern Monmouth County Branch of AAUW's 7th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on April 30 at the Beacon Hill Country Club. The group will honor two outstanding Monmouth County women, Anna Diaz-White,Executive Director of 180 Turning Lives Around, and Gwendolyn O. Love, Executive Director of Lunch Break, with their Woman of Achievement award, and remember Barbara Williamson, the member who began the luncheon tradition and led the Start Smart program in New Jersey for AAUW. In the tradition of past luncheons, the event will feature a presentation by a published author, this year, Francine Garson, a local author with an inspiring story about returning to her girlhood passion to write. Ms. Garson's first novel Things was published by Art Colony Press in 2018 and her second, Follow the Leader, was released in 2019. Funds raised by the luncheon are used to support scholarships for women attending local colleges and to support special programs for middle school and high school girls as well as promote pay equity for women. There is a discount for registrations postmarked or made on line by April 1. Registration information is available at www://aauw-nj-nmcb.org or call 732-275-2237. The stories of the honorees are touching and inspiring and AAUW is honored to acknowledge the difference they have made in the lives of so many Monmouth County individuals and families. Come to the luncheon, bring a friend, enjoy a beautiful setting, and meet and honor some very special women on April 30.
