Social Action film screening with filmmaker: Colonization is Extinction Sunday November 11 6:00 pm 1475 West Front Street, Lincroft, NJ Unitarian meetinghouse (uucmc.org) Colonization is Extinction is a film which tells the people's history of Puerto Rico, focusing on the hidden dimensions of the current economic crisis, the crippling effects of 120 years of colonization by the United States, and the resistance to imperial domination. Meet and hear from the filmmaker, Walter "Gualterio" Alomar, who spent 9 weeks in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, doing electrical repairs while completing the film, begun prior to the storm. Walter is president of the Long Branch-based Organization for Culture of Hispanic Origins (theocho.net), which provides both education and social services. He will introduce the film and lead the discussion with Q and A afterwards. Free and open to the public.
