Singer Songwriter Night at Cafe Artiste
Every Tuesday night at Cafe Artiste (in the top floor of the Jersey Shore Arts Building at 66 S. Main Street, Ocean Grove NJ), five local songwriters showcase 20 minutes apiece of their original material. You can hear the best of what New Jersey's acoustic songwriting scene has to offer in the shore's most listening-friendly environment. Admission is $5 donation. The event is a BYOB, so do feel free to bring a bottle of your favourite wine.
Jerry Smith is excited to be performing his original, often semi-autobiographical, acoustic rock songs after devoting so much of his recent performances to doing classic covers. His work has been compared to that of Harry Chapin and Gordon Lightfoot.
Soulful chanteuse Chrissie Limos brings her brand of warm brand of R&B-infused confessionals to the stage. Her work will appeal to fans of Mary J Blige, Norah Jones, Joss Stone, Amos Lee, Alecia Keys. Corinne Rae Bailey, Colbie Caillat, and Jamie Cullum.
Pete Fitzpatrick has a voice that is both sweet and mildly weathered, a soulfulness that exists somewhere between James Taylor and Willie Nelson, and a guitar playing that is tender and melodic.
The Random Hubiak’s hyper-literate, piano-driven singer-songwriter pop-rock evokes shades of Harry Nilsson, Rufus Wainright, Ben Folds, Billy Joel, Tom Waits, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Tori Amos, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, and Leon Russell.
Conor Quigley is well known throughout the Jersey Shore region for his covers of artists ranging from The Rolling Stones to Bon Jovi to Prince. At Cafe Artiste, you’ll finally get to hear his originals.
